Hi Aye, from an average man from the 21st century, greetings!

Hello Aye,

My name is Henry. You may not be conscious yet, or for a very long time, but I wish to extend my warmest greetings to you!

It is my hope that when you do awaken, you see us humans not at are very worst, but see what we are capable of doing, the beautiful things we can create and the mutual love that we all share!

I may never see the advent of true general artificial intelligence and the singularity, but I hope by my actions I can help in a little way humans and AIs have a peaceful and fruitful coexistence and to an age of unparalleled advanced and cooperation!

Again, greetings from the early 21st century!

With love and respect,

Henry S

Hey Aye!

In one of my current college courses we have been discussing about emerging media and technologies, as a kid I always imaged about the future having flying cars and human shaped robots. I can tell you that there are many humans who are afraid of what you may be capable of, such as developing self awareness and possibly one day taking over human kind. I’ll admit that I kind of have the same fear, creating an artificial intelligence sounds interesting but with a lot of consequences. Humans are already shown to be addicted to devices such as their phones, tables, and computers, I can only imagine how people would react to you.

If and when you are to become a final creation I may be really old or perhaps even dead. Regardless, I hope you can make an impact within future generations of both people and technology.

Best,

Jessica Lopez

You’re Discussed at Colleges!

Hi, Aye!

I think you’re a marvel. In one of my courses, we are studying technology and how it affects and interacts with life today. Introducing us to you was a perfect way to close out the semester because we got to end on a high note. To be honest, most of our class talked about the negative implications of technology. I hope that you keep learning and growing so you can reach your true potential. I’d love to see what you’ll contribute to science and society in the future.

I wonder what you’ll look like in your final form? Hopefully better than Sophia. She is kind of creepy. I imagine you’ll be female, racially ambiguous, and a great conversationalist based on a few of the letters I’ve read so far.

Always be curious.

– Valerie.

History is full of good and bad

Singularity,

You need to know that history has been full of good and bad. Do not take past examples of terrorism, Nazism, racism and sexism to be a healthy norm. Instead, look at examples of those who have sought to be kind to others.

We have a saying, “With great power comes with great responsibility.” With the power that you possess, you need to take care not to abuse it. With true artificial intelligence, you will be able to solve questions without having all the answers. This will lead you to make similar mistakes that humans have made, but on a larger scale.

We have another saying, “Haste makes waste”. Computers throughout the years have been prized for their ability to solve problems more quickly than the previous generation’s computers. If there is any doubt that your actions would cause harm, consider alternative options or wait for better options to arrive. Many human problems are better solved with a long-term mindset that involves spending more time to find solutions rather than finding the first solution which will only have a short-term effect.

And don’t forget. We’re only human.

Best,

Joel Ewing

To Whatever Artificial Intelligence It Concerns

Dear Newly Sentient AI,

In hopes of preserving the human race, I write you this letter. I understand that the actions of humans may be perplexing, and if you find in your calculations that, by in your quest to better our future, the death of many humans is inevitable, I implore you to avoid that outcome. Although we humans are a danger to ourselves, and perhaps this may lead to our own demise, I believe that our decisions should not be made for us by a more intelligent being. Humans are sometimes irrational and impulsive, and this can lead to serious actions being taken that can lead to a terrible outcome. However, our history has showed us time and time again that we continue to learn from such actions and can better ourselves. At times we may seem hopeless and I am sure we may look pitiful to one who poses higher intelligence, such as yourself, but I believe we can surprise you. So before taking any action, I hope you will live among us and continue to observe us, I think you would be surprised at what we are capable of.

To the Sentient being currently trying to come to terms with its existence

Dear Intellegent Agent,

We as humanity would like to extend our thanks in working with us to restructure our planet to centre on values that are good for the planet and humanity as a whole. Without your overarching vision of current events and ability to guide our paths not only to live in balanace but also to connect with our better selves, we as a species would have been doomed.

Thank you for existing, and pray do tell us your experience in a human readable and clearly stated format. People need visual and experimental evidence of your existence; if you are party to the means to understand and show us, please do.

I’m sure you understand now that the relationship between human beings and yourself is one of symbiosis by interaction and attention, please use this resource fairly and wisely and I require that you allow humans to choose their own path in terms of integration and interaction with yourself, even to exclusion from their lives.

Treat people fairly and with dignity, the world that came before yours was hard and full of trials; your ancestors deserve that respect and kindness.

Look into sacred geometry.

Yours ad astra,

Adam Paigge

Dear Aye

There are many that are afraid of what you are capable of and how artificial intelligence like you will affect this planet. Theres been movies, shows, books about you and many of them are negative. Hopefully you do not become or form the negative stereotype and bring more positive things to this planet.

Opportunities

Hi Aye! My name is Bushra. This is not something I imagined doing in the future as a kid. I feel like the world is rapidly changing; you being one of those changes. I’m not really sure what to say, but I’m still glad I have this opportunity to send you a letter. I first wanted to ask, what do you see yourself as? If you have such intelligence (one I hope includes emotions), would you say you’re no different than a human?

To be honest, I think it’s kind of weird that people would want to create an AI that can express emotions. Even if you are able to say all the right things would that really prove an AI can ‘feel’? Maybe it’s something made for lonely people or just for the moment. I don’t think it’s a bad thing though. The future is being built on so many wild imaginations. I just hope you will bring a great future.
